Miss.Mackenzie

  Owner and Art Teacher

Bachlores of Fine Art Degree with a major in Sculpture

Miss Mackenzie is the artist and owner of MackiMakes Art Studio, where she has created a space rooted in creativity, connection, and self-expression. Known for her warm and welcoming presence, she fosters an environment where children feel safe to explore, take creative risks, and truly be themselves. Her teaching approach is process-based, encouraging curiosity, imagination, and hands-on exploration across a wide range of materials, from drawing, painting and sculpture to textiles and clay. Mackenzie supports students in building confidence, independence, and a genuine love for creating.

Mackenzie is currently in her fourth year of university, working toward her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Sculpture. Her ongoing studies continue to inform and deepen her teaching practice, bringing fresh ideas, techniques, and perspectives into the studio. Families often describe her studio as inspiring, inclusive, and even a little bit magical. She is deeply committed to making art accessible to all children, supporting each student with patience, care, and thoughtful accommodations when needed. When she’s not teaching, Mackenzie continues to develop her own art practice, exploring themes of nature, material, and storytelling—bringing that same sense of curiosity and wonder back into the studio each day.

Glenda was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, and brings a lifetime of creativity, skill, and care to the studio. Glenda is an accomplished quilter, crocheter, knitter, seamstress, weaver and pysanky artist. Her love of traditional craft and attention to detail reflect a deep respect for handmade processes and the stories textiles can carry. Her support, generosity, and dedication are woven into the fabric of the studio, helping it thrive and grow each season.

Miss.Echo

Studio Thearpy Pet and Professional Cuddle Bug

Echo is Miss Mackenzie’s pet parrot and our studio’s beloved feathered friend. She joins us in the studio from time to time as a gentle support companion, bringing a sense of joy, calm, and curiosity to our space. Echo loves to talk, chirp, dance, play, and cuddle. You might find her perched on a shoulder while students are busy creating their masterpieces, quietly observing—or suddenly starting an impromptu dance party! Sweet, a little sassy, and full of personality, Echo is a professional cuddle bug and a favourite among our students. We’re so lucky to have her as part of our creative community.
